Wright starts career, makes summer marriage plans
By Jim Jarrett
Brody Wright found the career he cottons to and the girl he loves.
Wright, a 2003 Frenship High School and Texas Tech University graduate this spring, began working in the agriculture business at Agri-Liance in Ropesville.
He also plans to marry to Loren Lundgren of Stamford later this summer.
Wright attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene several years ago with the goal of becoming a physical therapist.
The physical therapist studies didn’t come easily. He didn’t enjoy the subject as much as he thought he would.
“I found out it was the only thing I was interested in and willing to study for four or five years, I figured it was probably the way to go,” said Wright.
High school: graduated from Frenship High School, 2003.
College: Graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in agricultural leadership, 2008.
Church: First Baptist Church of Wolfforth.
He came home and transferred to South Plains College for a semester. Agriculture teacher, Jim Jenkins, helped Wright.
“Of all the professors I have had, he’s the one I would go see again,” said Wright. “He’s kind of the one who got me turned onto (agriculture).”
Wright worked for farmers, in feed stores and horse barns to know what he wanted to do.
“I count a lot of seed. We do a lot of deliveries, seed fertilizer and chemicals and everything,” he said.
Wright first met Lundgren at a Texas Tech football game about three years ago. He said Lundgren combines beauty with common sense.
“She’s very intelligent and has a lot of common sense. She works hard. She loves the Lord and takes care of me,” said Wright.
Earlier this year, he proposed marrying to her in Stamford after talking to her father, Mark Lundgren.
“I just told her there were fancier ways of doing it, but I got on one knee and proposed to her,” said Wright. “Her dad was great. The whole family has been very accepting of me.”
