Tiger tennis competes at Permian Invitational

ODESSA—The Frenship tennis team went on the road this weekend to compete in the Permian Invitational in Odessa.

The Tigers had a strong showing in the mixed doubles event. Brittany McClellan and Landon Hope reached the final of the A division after defeating Andrews 6-2, 6-4, but fell to the Odessa High team in the final 6-3, 6-4.

In the B division, Josephine Camus and Dole Medley reached the third-place match against Permian, but lost in two sets 6-2, 7-6 (3).

Claire Tisdale reached the finals of the B division in the girls’ singles, placing second after falling to Megan Waagner of Lubbock Monterey in two sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Alex Brown competed for the Tigers in the A division of the girls’ singles, reaching the third-place match. Brown fell to Victoria Inman of Odessa High 6-3, 6-0.

Frenship’s next competition will take place March 1-2 in Amarillo as the Tigers will travel to play in the Sandy Cup Tournament.
