Tiger golf plays at Jim McLean Invitational

Josh Mahan and Jack Vanderburg led the Frenship boys golf team to a second place finish at the Jim McLean Invitational at Fort Worth last weekend.
Mahan and Crowder each finished in the top 10 individuals of the tournament.
Mahan placed in sixth and Crowder followed at seventh.
Blake Crowder finished just outside the top 10 with an 11th place finish.
This is the Frenship blue team’s first tournament of the season to not place first.
The Tigers found themselves in fourth place after the first round, but a score of 299 in the second round helped them pass Odessa Permian and Southlake Carroll’s green team who shot 308 and 310 in the second round.
Frenship improved more in the third round shooting five strokes better than the leader, Southlake Carroll’s black team.
Southlake Carroll’s black team ended up winning the tournament with a three-round score of 844. The Tigers were one stroke behind with 845
Mahan finished the tournament with a 3-round score of 211.
Vanderburg added to the Tigers success with a three-day score of 212 and Blake Crowder followed with a score of 214.
A.J. Torres finished the tournament with a score of 215 and Chad Meador had a score of 219.
