Tennis teams compete in Frenship Invitational

WOLFFORTH—Brittany McClellan and Landon Hope continue to be a force on the court for the Frenship Tigers. The doubles team took first place in mixed doubles this weekend at the Frenship Invitational.

McClellan and Hope dominated Nelson and Fatheree of Pampa in the mixed doubles final, winning the championship match in two sets, 6-1, 6-0. Emily McCluff and Josiah Miller placed second in the consolation bracket of mixed doubles for the Tigers, falling to Snyder 6-1, 6-2.

In boys doubles, the Tiger combination of Eric Reynolds and Travis Maxwell defeated Ryan Benson and EJay Hernandez in three sets in a hotly contested all-Frenship consolation final, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2.

Frenship also took the consolation title in girls doubles. Ashley Kajs and Kate Lokey defeated Plainview 6-0, 6-2.

The Tigers will have one more chance to hone their skills before district when they travel to Amarillo this weekend to compete in the Amarillo Relays. The district tournament will take place on April 8-9 in Lubbock.
