Tennis gets underway at South Plains Shootout

WOLFFORTH—The varsity Frenship tennis team took to the courts in the first tournament of the year this weekend as Frenship hosted the South Plains Shootout Tournament.
The Tigers earned first place in girls doubles, with Alex Brown and Jaiden Kendall taking home the win. In the boys doubles, Christian Garcia and Travis Maxwell won the consolation bracket.
Two Tiger squads placed in the mixed doubles. Brittany McClellan and Landon Hope took second overall, while Cole Medley and Josephine Camus won the consolation bracket.
Claire Tisdale placed third in the girls singles for the Tigers. None of the Frenship boys placed in the singles matches.
The tennis team will take a short road trip this weekend to play in the Lubbock Monterey Tournament. The tournament will begin on Friday, Feb. 8.
