Whitney Reynolds, a 17-year-old baton-twirler and Frenship graduate, recently earned the title of “Miss Majorette of Texas” for the second consecutive year.
Reynolds, who graduated in early June from Frenship High School, claimed first in baton and two-baton competitions in the state championships at the University of Texas in Dallas.
She moved up to the intermediate division this year. She was surprised she won.
“Whenever they called my name, I was shocked,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds could represent Texas in the America’s Youth on Parade baton twirling national and world championships at Notre Dame University this summer in South Bend, Ind.
Last year at the competition, Reynolds placed third in world open beginner 16-year-old open two-baton championship and fourth in solo baton. She placed seventh at nationals in the pageant’s beginner division.
