Q&A with Koby Claborn

02-17 Koby Claborn 1

Q: How long have you been playing baseball?
A: I’ve been playing baseball since I was 7.

Q: Is it something that you have developed a passion for?
A: Oh yes. For sure. I mean when I was little I played everything: football, basketball and baseball, but baseball is by far my favorite from the time I started playing it, and I just always had a passion to get better at it.

Q: Are you excited that you will be able to continue to play the sport at the collegiate level?
A: I’m just glad that I have the opportunity to, and I want to make the best of it.

Q: How do you see the upcoming season going for the team?
A: I see it going well. It’s going to be different than it has been the last couple years, but I think we are still going to be pretty successful if we stick together, play to our advantages, play to our abilities and try not to be something that we aren’t.

Q: What is going to be different about this season?
A: We don’t have as many older guys that are returning starters as we have the last couple years, and we don’t have quite as many pitchers. That is something that we have to find and establish quickly, but once we find that and then find out who is going to step up and be the guys for us is then we are going to be able to be successful.

Q: Have any younger players shown they can play at the varsity level?
A: There’s been a few younger players that have stepped up and made an impact early in the few scrimmages and practices that we have had.

Q: What will the team have to improve on before the season begins?
A: We’re not really going to change a whole lot from what we’ve done. We are just going to try and build off each other and use everything that we can to make ourselves better and use the guys that have been around and kind of feed off them as influences.

Q: What are some of your personal goals for the season?
A: First off for the team, I’m hoping to go out there and win a district title, and after that we will go from there, but I don’t want to look past that for now.
