Monterey Church of Christ to hold ninth annual gift fair
The ninth annual Holiday Memories gift fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 5 at Monterey Church of Christ.
Admission to the event is free, but possible holiday gifts will be on sale from more than 55 vendors, including ones selling pottery, mosaic crosses, clothes, snacks, home decor and jewelry.
“We’re kicking off holiday shopping. Bring a friend and join us,” Randa Lang, Monterey office manager, said. The event is open to the whole family, she said.
Food vendors will also be at the church selling snacks and drinks.
Lang said many of last year’s vendors will be back, but there are more new vendors this year than in the past.
“This year, we have so many new vendors, and we’re really excited,” she said. “We’ve got kind of a whole different array of things. We’re seeing all new kinds of gifts and services.”
Lang said the church started holding the event nine years ago in order to help the community feel comfortable coming to the church.
“It’s really a great outreach for us, because it gets so many people into our building. We’ve learned that the more people that are comfortable with your building, they might come back for other things,” Lang said. “They might come to some of our programs for marriage, divorced kids or grief recovery.”
Lang said those coming to the gift fair will find they are welcomed and that there are no strings attached to attendance.
