Live Blog: Final, Frenship 38 vs Denton Ryan 35

Well that is the end of the game. The Frenship Tigers are able to seek revenge on Denton Ryan after six-years when the Raiders knocked Frenship out of the playoffs during the Regional Semi-final game.

Fourth Quarter

Michael McCauley recovered the onside kick. All Frenship has to do now is kneel the ball and they win.

Ryan continues to show life as the clock winds down. They just scored with a 22-yard pass from Scotty Young to Bud Sasser. They are about to attempt the onside kick.

The Tigers marched down the field on five running plays for 46 yards. Alec Birchfield scored the touchdown on a 5-yard run. Frenship leads 38-28.

Scotty Young passed to Bud Sasser for a 5-yard touchdown. The drive was kept alive on a Frenship holding call on fourth-and-one.

Lance Ratliff made a 39-yard field goal to give the Tigers a 31-21 lead.

Ryan kept its chances alive with a quick score to start the fourth quarter. Scotty Young completed a 19-yard pass to DJ Beshears for the touchdown.

Third Quarter

The Tiger defense held Ryan to its second turnover on downs. Frenship took advantage and scored on a 28-yard pass from Lloyd to Ratliff. The play was set up by a 25-yard rush by Alec Birchfield. Frenship leads 28-14.

Just like that, Frenship’s offense answers back with a four-play touchdown drive of its own. Ratliff had 24 receiving yards. The drive was finished with a 15-yard run by Landon Lamb.

Bud Sasser caught his second touchdown pass with a 24-yard completion from Scotty Young. The Raiders look like a new team in the second half. They had no trouble marching down the field for a 78-yard drive. The score is tied 14-14.

Second Quarter

That is the end of the first half. The Tigers are leading 14-7, but this game is far from the shootout that I expected. Both defenses have come up with big plays and that has been the key to this game. Good defense.

Offensive leaders for Frenship include Tyler Lloyd who is 7-13 with 68 yards passing. Bryan Seicks has 41 yards rushing. Preston Dotson has 10 yards and a touchdown, and Lance Ratliff has 11 yards and a touchdown.

Philip James and Ratliff each have an interception on defense.

Scotty Young completes a 5-yard touchdown pass to Bud Sasser. The score is 14-7, Frenship leading.

Lance Ratliff rushed for an 11-yard touchdown off a reverse. The score is 14-0.

Lance Ratliff intercepted Scotty Young at the Tiger 7-yard line and returned it for 30 yards. The Tigers are driving right now.

Frenship just scored its first touchdown of the game. After Ratliff’s missed field goal, Ryan had the ball its own 17-yard line. On the first play of the second quarter, Philip James intercepted a Scotty Young pass to give the Tigers the ball on their 28-yard line. Tyler Lloyd connected with Landon Lamb for a 23-yard pass and Preston Dotson ran for a 3-yard touchdown.

First Quarter

The first quarter just ended with a 0-0 score. Both teams have had passing opportunities, but have fell short of scoring. Frenship’s Lance Ratliff attempted a 34-yard field goal that went wide-right.

Hello Frenship fans. It is about one hour before kick-off and both teams are taking its warm-up time.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know I did. One thing that makes this holiday my favorite, is the fact that it is one solid weekend of non-stop football. So far, its started off good with a lopsided Dallas Cowboy victory over Seattle on Thursday. Frenship tonight, and Texas Tech tomorrow, now it doesn’t really get much better than that does it?
