Jeremy Hardy chooses unexpected career path in ministry

After three years studying biology, Jeremy Hardy started over on a new path in Dallas.
Hardy, a 1996 graduate of Frenship High School, was on the drum line and participated in football, power lifting and track.
After graduation, he went to Texas Tech to pursue a fisheries biology degree. He studied for three years before he said he decided to go to seminary at Criswell College in Dallas.
“I was called by God to change things up and go to seminary,” said Hardy. “I kind of had to start over.”
He began studying at Criswell in 1999, and received a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies in 2003.
“Now I am a marketing director for a law firm in uptown Dallas,” said Hardy. “I am pursuing a master’s degree in philosophical theology.”
Hardy is also a children’s minister at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cedar Hill.
Hardy is married to Rachel, whom he met as a student at Criswell College. The couple has two children, Isabelle, 4, and MaryGrace, 1, and Rachel is expecting another daughter in March.
“I love my girls. I’m fine with having all girls,” said Hardy.
His wife has a photography business that she runs in addition to taking care of the girls.
Although he never would have seen himself as a minister while in high school, Hardy said he is happy with the changes in his life.
“God is doing some good things, for sure,” he said.
When he was in high school, he said he Coach Lonnie Kuss was his favorite coach.
“He was like a father-figure to me,” said Hardy.
