Frenship Middle School students design architectural structures

Frenship Middle School art students completed a lesson on architecture and started a project for some hands-on learning.

The students learned how to draw buildings to scale, design blueprints and design architectural structures.

Students built the structures with a frame, interior and exterior walls, a roof and interior and exterior decorations.

When they were finished, the structures were judged by Darrell Mann, a local architect. Conner Hess won best of show. Second- through seventh-place structures were built by, respectively, Tanner Warmoth, Tate Sparks, Enrique Salas, Stephanie Miller, Jaiden Kendall and Kelsie French.

The students’ work is on display at Hard Tops Gallery in the Depot District.
