Frenship-area churches plan Vacation Bible School events

Several churches in the Frenship area are planning Vacation Bible School events for children during this summer.

Faith Baptist Church, located at 6002 66th St. in Lubbock, is holding a Jonah-themed VBS from 6:30-8 p.m. on June 25-28.

First Baptist Church of Wolfforth, located at 501 Main St., is holding an Olympic-themed VBS called “God Always Wins.” It will kick off with a family night open to all ages at 5:30 p.m. on June 23 in the church parking lot. VBS will officially run from 6-8:30 p.m. on June 25-28, with dinner served each night. Ages 4 years to students who have just completed fifth grade are welcome at VBS.

Harvest Church, located at 7201 Marsha Sharp Freeway, is holding a VBS called “Just Do It,” inspired by James 1:22, “But be doers of the word…” The event will run July 18-20 from 7-9 p.m., with the final night going until 10 p.m. Snacks and prizes will be provided each evening. Early registration runs through July 1 for $10 for first in the family and $8 for additional family members. After July 1, the registration fee will be $12 for the first in the family and $9 for each additional family member.

Monterey Church of Christ, located at 6111 82nd St., will start a VBS called “Praise” on July 15 at 5 p.m. The VBS will run from 9 a.m. to noon July 16-19. It is open to children 4 years to those who have just completed fifth grade. Registration is available online at

Shadow Hills Baptist Church, located at 5911 Fourth St., will host a Sky-themed VBS, with a motto of, “Everything is possible with God.” The VBS will run from 6:30-9 p.m. on June 17-20, and ages 4 through fifth-grade are welcome.

St. John Neumann Catholic church, located at 5802 22nd St., will have a Vacation Bible School for all age groups called “Bible Fest.” The event will run from July 30-Aug. 3, starting each night at 5:45 with a $1 meal. Bible studies will begin at 7 p.m. and go until 9 p.m.

A few church administrators said their plans for Vacation Bible School are not finalized.
