Focus on faith and love makes Harvest Children’s Academy a great place to learn
At Harvest Children’s Academy, you can trust that your little ones are learning and growing under the guidance of loving teachers, all of whom have a heart for shepherding children in biblical truth.
“For our teachers, this is not just a job – it’s a calling they have submitted their lives and hearts to,” says Donna Christian, wife of Pastor Bracken Christian, founder of Harvest Church and Harvest Children’s Academy. “Our school may be small, but the staff’s love for discipling the hearts of children is immeasurable.”
The Harvest Children’s Academy concept began in the spring of 2005 as a twice-weekly Parent’s Day Out program in affiliation with Harvest Church. In 2006, they decided to broaden their learning services and became a state-licensed Christian day care. Previously named Kingdom Kids, Harvest Children’s Academy has now expanded, building two new classrooms in the past year to accommodate their steady growth in enrollment.
Daily programs at Harvest Children’s Academy include learning objectives geared to help your child advance in all areas: spiritually, mentally and physically. Morning chapel time precedes a day of learning in a fun environment! Harvest Children’s Academy teaches creative play through arts, crafts and music, as well as core skills in reading, math, and foreign language, like Spanish and American Sign Language.
Bible stories and lessons are also shared and teachers incorporate prayer throughout the day, like before snacks or lunch. Children are provided with a morning snack and an afternoon snack, but are asked to bring their own lunch. And lunch is followed by naptime, which is followed by active play! Harvest Children’s Academy does not forget that children need playtime and group activities where they can learn to interact with their peers and practice general forms of etiquette.
And for hands on learning, seasonal field trips are taken to places like the Pumpkin Patch, Science Spectrum or the Public Library!
“At Harvest Children’s Academy, our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate environment for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, from birth to five years old,” says Jessica Christian, Administrator.
“We desire to help create for the children a strong foundation on the Word of God that will equip them to lead successful and godly lives,” she adds.
Harvest Children’s Academy has something for older kids too! Enroll your elementary school students in their afterschool program, which provides van services to pick up students from Frenship area schools and bring them safely to the center.
