Council votes to endorse members in company
BY BRYAN NAVARETTE
The Wolfforth City Council voted Monday in favor of Richard Ravitch and Allan Luis Waters being re-elected as board members for the Build America Mutual Assurance company.
Both are running unopposed for two separate board member positions.
According to City Secretary Debbie Perkey, the council had the opportunity to participate in the member proxy vote for being a customer of the company.
“They are both unopposed,” Perkey said, “and the vote was for the mayor (Charles Addington) to make the choice to either support, decline or abstain.”
Addington voted in favor of the two unopposed candidates and signed the ballot for submission.
According to the National League of Cities website, which endorses the company, Build America Mutual Assurance is a provider of financial guaranty insurance on debt for its member municipalities.
