Cade savors fatherhood, hunting
Former Frenship High School football player Brad Cade has gone on to play college football, teach and, most recently, sell cars.
The first year after his 1991 graduation from FHS, Cade played football at Kilgore College. He then laid out for a year before walking on as a punter and quarterback at Texas Tech.
“I redshirted my first year there at Tech, then I started my junior and senior year,” said Cade. Eventually he settled into the punting position.
After graduation with a degree in education, Cade went into teaching and coaching, starting in Dimmit and ending up in Borger.
But he said he left because of a desire to earn more money, and is now a car salesman.
“I’m in Amarillo at Gene Messer Ford,” said Cade. “I just make a lot more in this business than I was teaching and coaching.”
Along the way, Cade met his wife, Ambra, in Amarillo. She’s a nurse, and the couple have been married “three years and five months,” said Cade.

Their first son, Kason, will be six months old tomorrow.
When he’s not working or playing with his new baby boy, Cade said he loves to hunt and fish.
“Of course, I like sports, but I really like hunting and fishing,” he said. He said he’s up for hunting anything, but really prefers bird hunting, including quail, pheasant and doves.
Cade said he still hooks up with old high school friends to go hunting, and said he is looking forward to an annual quail hunt they will travel to New Mexico for in December.
