The Frenship 2015 Prom Committee voted on and is preparing for a “A Vintage Night to Remember.”
Vintage being the theme of the FHS 2015 Prom, according to the Frenship Class of 2016 sponsor and prom chair Hannah Teykl.
She said the theme will encompass a rustic feel and visual elements will vary from tree branch decorations to basic lights.
“(It’s) very savvy chique,” she said. “We are going to have some vintage cars for the kids to take pictures with and, of course, a dance floor with a dee-jay.”
According to the FHS website, the prom will be on April 18 at the City Bank Coliseum, 2720 Drive of Champions in Lubbock.
“Pretty much everything is on track,” Teykl said. “We (are) selling tickets on April 6 through 15 at the school.”
Tickets may be purchased outside of the FHS cafeteria during all lunch periods. Each ticket will cost $40 and will be limited to the first 1,000 sold.
Teykl said the event will not include a full meal and will only be serving heavy dessert items such as fruit, cheese and crackers.
Additionally, there will be games and prizes for those in attendance.
The prom committee approved upperclassmen to take a date from any school provided they are at least a freshman, but not older than 20. Dates cannot currently be enrolled in DAEP or anything related to the program. All dates who are not in high school will have to fill out a background check.
