Laura Landes becomes Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designer’s newest funeral director

GIVING THE LAST GIFT – Laura Landes, previously an apprentice at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, is now serving families as a fully-licensed funeral director. Laura loves that her role allows her to “give people the very last gift” she can give.

Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers is pleased to announce that their apprentice of two years, Laura Landes, is now serving families as a fully-licensed funeral director.

The entire staff congratulates Laura on the fine accomplishment of receiving an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Mortuary Science from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services in Houston. They also applaud Laura for the discipline and balance she demonstrated as she dedicated herself equally to her furthered education and her families at Lake Ridge Chapel.

As she has done in the past, Laura continues to approach the special requests and unique needs of each family with great enthusiasm, compassion and professionalism. It’s not just a job for Laura – it’s a calling that she finds great joy and fulfillment in.

“I love coming here each day,” Laura says. “I’ve never, ever been able to say that about other jobs I’ve had. I truly love what I do here.”

When asked to elaborate, Laura confidently replies, “In my role, I am able to give people the very last gift I can give – that’s what I always tell people. I choose Lake Ridge Chapel because it’s a beautiful place to do that. It’s a breath of fresh air, especially to the families we serve.”

With connections to both Lubbock and Wolfforth, Laura’s bonds with local families are strong. Originally from Paris, Texas, Laura has lived in Lubbock for 34 years and graduated from Monterey High School. She and her husband, Todd Landes, have two children attending Frenship ISD schools. Their daughter, Kaitlyn Hindman, is a senior at Frenship High School and their son, Jacob Hindman, is a seventh grader at Frenship Middle School.

If you have questions about memorial packages or pre-arrangements, Laura would love to speak with you about Lake Ridge Chapel’s signature services.

“Our families are always mesmerized by our signature services,” she says. “From our dove releases to catered visitations, it’s the little things we do that make a big difference. We want your loved one to be honored in a way that allows you to look back, years from now, and be thankful that you created a ceremony that was a gift to everyone involved – a gift of memories, a gift of healing… a truly priceless gift of peace-of-mind.”

Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, a family-owned funeral home, is located at 6025 82nd Street. In addition to a bright, open building with a large chapel and a peaceful courtyard for services or quiet reflection, Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers is the only independently-owned funeral home in the area that has a crematory and ceremonial room on-site.
