Look for bargains on tax-free weekend

It’s tax-free weekend. School supplies and a lot of clothing items are tax-free for the next three days.

While you’re out shopping, you might remember there are a few who can’t afford all those shiny new crayons. If you’re so inclined, you can drop off a few items or even money at the “Meet the Teacher” night at any Frenship campus.

Elementary campuses are having their “Meet the Teacher” night on Aug. 23, while middle schools will have theirs on Aug. 21. You could probably drop them off at the Casey Administration Building in Wolfforth, too.

According to Frenship, the supplies needed include:

  • Notebook paper
  • No. 2 pencils
  • Colored pencils
  • Crayons (8- or 24-count)
  • Markers
  • Highlighters
  • Glue
  • Glue sticks
  • Scissors (5-inch or 7-inch)
  • Dry erase markers
  • Construction paper
  • Spiral notebooks
  • Scotch tape
  • Folders (with brads)

Be careful as you are out shopping! The mall was a madhouse today when I went during my lunch hour. JCPenney was on top of stuff when a three-year-old girl went missing, and they sent an alert through the store to look for the tot. She showed up a few minutes later, thankfully. There were sooooooooooo many people there!
