Wolfforth’s Boot Scoot and BBQ Cook-Off is this weekend

Starting Friday, cooks will be pulling into Wolfforth’s Patterson Park to set up for the Wolfforth Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Boot Scoot and Barbecue Cook-Off.

Judges will meet with the cooks to go over rules Friday night.

But the real action will start at 7 a.m. Saturday morning, when the cooks will begin preparing their entries.

Judging will be later in the day.

A barbecue dinner for the public will start at 5 p.m., the same time when the live music at the Patterson Park Pavilion will start. The dinner is $7 a plate, while concert tickets are $10 from Select-A-Seat and $15 at the gate.

Musicians will include Texas 114 at 5 p.m., Jason Nutt at 7 p.m. and Rob Baird at 9 p.m.

According to the Weather Channel app on my phone, projected highs for Saturday will be 102 degrees. Bring sunscreen if you hit the park early and something to sit on while you eat barbecue or listen to music.
