Crestview Elementary School raises money for causes
Crestview Elementary School staff and students raised more than $5,000 for Hands for Hope, Walk for Autism and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event.
The money was raised in April. Student council members hosted a car wash, skate night and a bake sale.
Jennifer Purdom, Crestview Character Counts teacher, agreed to dye her hair blue if the school raised more than $5,000. Purdom dyed her hair, but said it turned out more green than blue.
The class that raised the most money, Aimee Stroope’s second grade class at about $150, will get to throw water balloons at Purdom on Fun Day May 23.
