FHS Latin students take fourth at state competition

• Frenship High School Latin students took fourth out of 23 schools during state-level competition in Humble.

• Competing in the event were: David Baker, Jill Beaver, Austin Carder, Amanda Garcia, Jaron Hardage, Jonathon Harger, Austin Harleson, Katie Hicks, Jazzlynn Jackson, Paola Jimenez, Kimberly Johnston, Alex Kennel, Maegan Ladd, Kristina Lizama, Amadeo Luna, Steve McLain, Sarah Miller, Tyler Miller, Quinten Nail, Kimiko Ordono, Elizabeth Peggram, Landon Roberts, Spencer Scheef, Steven Schoor, Heidi Smith, Philip Wampler, Alix Young and Rachel Young.

Frenship High School students earn awards at arts festival

• Three Frenship High School students placed in the annual young writers competition at the Lubbock Arts Festival.

• Jeremy Maner, an FHS 11th-grader, took first with his poem which depicted Tom S. Lubbock writing a letter to his wife. Marnie Lemonik, a ninth-grader, took second in poetry with a poem about the differences between Lubbock now and 100 years ago. Colton Walworth won an award in prose for his humor piece about his take on the theme.

Frenship high school, middle school bands earn sweepstakes

• Frenship middle school and high school bands dominated the UIL contest with seven sweepstakes awards.

• Three Frenship High School bands, two Terra Vista Middle School bands and two Frenship Middle School bands received first-division ratings in concert and sight reading to earn sweepstakes awards.

Frenship middle-school choirs earn sweepstakes awards

• Two Frenship middle-school choirs won sweepstakes awards during UIL choir competition in April.

• The Terra Vista Middle School treble choir competed at the varsity level and earned division one ratings in concert and sight reading for a sweepstakes award.

• TVMS and Frenship Middle School combined to compete in the non-varsity level. The singers also earned a sweepstakes award.

FHS business students place in stock market game

• Frenship High School had five teams of students from Krista Scott’s accounting I and II classes and Angel Boyles’ introduction to business classes place in the top ten recently in a stock market game.

• The game was an online simulation in which students were given $100,000 to invest.

• Students Kayla Hendrix, Alisha Kluzek, Megan Low and Rebecca Smith were the third-place team in the competition. Other Frenship teams placed fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth.

Frenship HOSA students place in state leadership conference

• Two Frenship High School HOSA students placed in the top 10 during the state leadership conference in Austin.

• Jonathon Boswell took eighth in concepts of health care exam and Jennifer Farber took third in home health aide to advance to the national competition.
