Woman shares story of how peer bullying led to eating disorder
A 20-year-old woman shared how bullying led her to anorexia in a school assembly at Frenship Middle School last Wednesday. Chelsey Knight, who now lives in Lubbock, shared her story of how she ended up at Remuda Ranch in Arizona, a treatment center for anorexia and bulimia. Middle school cheerleaders collect money, food supplies Cheerleaders from Frenship and Terra Vista middle schools volunteered during August to “Stuff the Bus” for the annual South Plains Food Bank school supply drive. FMS cheerleaders filled four barrels and collected more than $300. TVMS cheerleaders collected two barrels of supplies and more than $200 in cash. [...]
Frenship Middle School teaches chess to students
Some Frenship Middle School students are becoming acquainted with a series of new characters during their noon hour and after school, including kings, queens, rooks, knights, bishops and several pawns.
The FMS Chess Club has 24 members. They play and eat during lunch some days, and meet each Monday after school to learn the game of chess.
Two FMS teachers honored
Two Frenship Middle School teachers were surprised during a faculty meeting last Wednesday when they were named the Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year and the Sam’s Club Teacher of the Year.
Sherry Airhart, a life skills teacher for special education students, and Joni Bills, a sixth-grade reading teacher, were named the Wal-Mart and Sam’s teachers, respectively.

Frenship Middle School students will be selling magazine subscriptions to serve as the school fundraiser.
Frenship Middle School offers high school credited course
Students at Frenship Middle School will be given the opportunity to earn high school credit for online classes in keyboarding and career investigations.
Frenship Middle School cheerleaders win camp awards
The Frenship Middle School cheerleading squad earned top awards recently at the UCA Cheer Camp at Texas Tech.
The squad earned the Camp Champs award for home pom routine, a dance choreographed by the squad.
